Gimme More - 2nd November 2007

Well seen as I haven't done one in ages I thought it would be about time for me to do some kind of update.Well since my last blog, I've been to Amsterdam, had a friend here for the weekend and celebrated my 25th birthday so a lot has gone on in my life in the last three weeks. I will probably do a Amsterdam blog so I won't go into too much detail about it in this blog.Work is going well, it seems we are getting more and more in and my dad has having a issue with power and the fact it seems to be going to his head. I am glad when he goes to see clients or goes out to get things as it's a break for me and I can slack off a little. Some times he can be impossible and I am sure if he had a whip he'd use it on me hahaha. The pay isn't bad and I do get away with lots so I can't complain too much about it.Well last Friday evening one of my closest friends, Pete, came up from Coventry for the weekend. It's been ages since I've seen him with him being busy with work and saving money to fly to Moldova as often as he does and me being lazy means I've not gone to see him this year but I do plan on seeing him next year. Anyway we couldn't find the train station but after asking someone stood outside the pub we were soon in the right direction and were only 5 minutes late. As I was running late to pick him up I had to call at Asda and Argos on the way home so we basically didn't have time to go for the Chinese meal like planned so we went up to the Windmill instead and had a nice meal. It was actually a good night as there was a disco on there and there was some good music being played.

Saturday involved shopping and a long lunch in the Windmill before coming home for a couple of hours to chill out and get ready to go out. Pete had brought me a bottle of pink wine from Moldova and I couldn't wait to open it but when I did I wished I hadn't because it wasn't very nice and me wanting to be polite drank about 2 glasses of it.The meal at Frankie and Bennys was nice and fun, I enjoyed myself and had some very nice wine and a lovely hot choccy. I think I'm addicted to them at the moment as I am having them everywhere I've been lately. Then we walked over to the bowling alley for three games and during the first game everyone around us finished their games and left and we were the only ones left and then the lights were put on and they started to clean around us. It was so annoying and distracting and put me right off my bowling so after a couple of rubbish goes I started to mess around and do some really funny shots and being silly and it made the game even more interesting. It wasn't helping me win but it was making everything a lot more fun. There was one point when I threw the bowl at the alley and we all just fell around laughing non stop because it was just so funny!! It was a good night all in all.

Next morning I had a hang-over and it got worse and worse, and I was just dying to go out and get something to eat but my dad was nowhere to be seen and we were waiting for him. Actually we had planned to go and see Stardust but it started at 10:45am and it was 10:30am when we realised and I wasn't dressed and there was no way that we were going to be down there on time so we just decided on lunch and hang out in the house before we went. Eventually we went for lunch and I had the Sunday lunch, I had turkey but there was also beef and pork, and another hot choc. The meal was so large I managed half before having to give up. We played on the quiz machine for the third day and we weren't winning anything, lots of stomping (because I was losing) later and we were on our way to drop Pete off at Preston Train-station. When we got there we found we had a dog lead in the car so we were able to take Lucky down to the track with us. Once the train arrived Pete got on but the windows were tinted so we couldn't see were he was sitting, we walked down trying to look with no avail, so we ended up waving at all the windows in the carrage as it went hahaha....it turns out someone had taken his seat and Pete being Pete didn't ask for it back.

We ended up going back to the Windmill and having another drink and I had another Hot choc before coming home.

My birthday was a good day in all, I enjoyed it all and thank you so much to everyone who bought me a gift, sent me a card, sent me a email or online message - I really appreciate it all so thank you so much xxxI had a wonderful day, got some presents on the day and some since then. I went to the Windmill about 4pm in a taxi and I was so hungry my stomach was hurting and was so glad when the food came. I ended up having the lamb shank which is one of the things I hadn't tried on the menu. I had a bottle of wine but it turned out that I didn't like it, I did drink 2 glasses and then I thought I'd try something else, a guiness with a tia maria, and I didn't like it but it turned out my dad liked it so he had it. I then tried another red wine and I got that for free from Stuart, the co-owner, and I really liked that one but it ran out as it was the wine of the week, so then I was onto the house red which was OK but I've had better but it was better than what was in the wine bottle. We played on the quiz machine lots and played pool. The first game was like I was a professional, I did great for the first 5 minutes and potted about 5 balls and then I turned into the worst player on the planet. But I still managed to just win the game. The second game I potted the black ball early on in the game but because there was only about 3 colours potted we decided to play on, anyway my dad still won. The third game was a tough game because there was no chalk so in the end the cues became so slippy it was almost impossible to play pool and some how I managed to win.Next it was time for dessert which I could only manage a little and then more quiz playing before a nice hot choc and a diet coke to finish the evening. As I was drinking the diet coke my taxi came so I ended up taking it with me and now have a nice diet coke glass in my collection.I managed to get in just in time for the MTV Awards to start and the Foos did an excellent opening performance. The vino started to wear off about 11pm so I was on a bottle of water before bed and woke up feeling fine although a little tired.
