Bank Holiday weekend was a good weekend because I had my friend Pete here for the weekend. He was actually going to come on the 18th April but I said he should come on the bank holiday and go back on the Monday because that would be easier.
On the days leading up to Pete visiting I had to do a bit of a spring clean because I tend to do one of those around this time of the year and it needed doing so I spent a few days giving the house a major clean up and it's stayed that clean since so it's all good.
Pete was arriving on the Saturday at 10:25am at the trainstation at Preston so I wanted to set off at 9:45 at the latest but that wasn't going to happen so I was a few minutes late. I knew the train would be early because Virgin trains always arrive early so that's why I was trying to leave so early to get there in enough time.
My dad was really annoying me shouting at me in the back of the car, where he was sat when Pete got in, so I bet Pete was wishing he'd not bothered coming because me and my dad were arguing about the directions to the Preston Asda. Even once we left Asda we were arguing about how to get to the Ribchester Arms, where we were going to go and eat.
We had some amazing food at the Ribby Arms (as we call it) and it was soon time to get back to my house. Pete had decided that he needed a nap. WTF?!! I rarely ever nap especially if I'm going to see someone, I don't go to sleep for a few hours when I get there. I also suggested that my dad should go to bed too because he was obviously tired with being a grumpy so and so. I was pretty tired myself after only having four hours sleep the night before but I decided not to bother because I knew if I went to bed for two hours I wouldn't want to get up again so I stayed up.
About half an hour before Pete got up I did my make up and put a nice outfit on and was ready to go out and get some food from Chiquito's. My dad had to be woken up and then took forever to get downstairs to go out. He was still being a grumpy so and so and it was causing so much tension and I wasn't happy that he was being so grumpy.
The food in Chiquito's was rubbish to say the least. It was overprice, not very tasty and the waiting on was rubbish too. We sat for thirty minutes waiting for the bill and when we complained to the manager he couldn't give a fook about it so we are not going back there again.
When we left there we was meant to go bowling but Pete had a headache so that was going to happen. Instead we went to a pub called the Bonny Inn where my dad and Pete had a drink and I sat outside for a while but my grumpt dad was complaining about how cold he was so we ended up inside.
Finally went home, calling for lots of different of cold drinks on the way home and some more beer for my dad who went to bed as soon as he got in. I helped Pete set up his bed for the night and started to upload my pictures from the day before he went off to bed. I was able to then go on the other computer but didn't really have thr right frame of mind for it so I went to bed and watched a DVD.
Next day we were meant to go out for Sunday lunch around 12pm but my dad went for a 14 mile run saying he'd be back in plenty of time but didn't turn up till going up for 2pm and I wasn't at all pleased. He then seemed to take forever to get showered and dressed so I was glad to finally get my Sunday lunch in the windmill. We decided not to have dessert in The Windmill from past experiences and went up to another pub for a cheaper tastier dessert and a lot of games on the quiz machine.
We dropped my dad off at home and then went to have three games of bolwing. Of course Pete cheated (or so I say haha) and won the first two games so I was determined to win the third game which I did. We then went upstairs to the cinema for a milkshake and found they aren't as good as they used to be and for almost a fiver they should be amazing.
Then we went down to the arcade and played on a car game but mine seemed to have a fault on a crashed so Pete won and wouldn't believe me about the fault. I always beat him on car games so he should know I'm not lying but anyway he played one on his own after that before we came back to mine.
We didn't really do anything in the evening which was a little dull. Pete watched Indianna Jones on TV and I was on the computer uploading pics and avoiding the film. I also drove my dad somewhere and was out for a while. It wasn't too long before the both of them where in bed and I'd love to joke and say they went together but I better not even say that.
Next morning I was meant to do a race but the night before I dropped a full glass bottle on a toe and it was painful. Then the next morning I had an argument with my dad, who was still in a grumpy mood, so I wasn't going to do it but my dad was still going to do his race because there was a female race (that was the one I was going to do) and 45 minutes later there was a mans race so we all packed into the car with Lucky and my dad and I drove us to Preston.
It was a nice day outside so Lucky was loving running around in the park. As we got to the start the womens race set off and as soon as they set off I was wishing I'd done the race and next time I enter a race I am going to do it because I regret not doing it now.
There was another member of my running club doing the race so we supported her and in turn she stopped and stood with my while my dad raced and had a good old natter and my dad did a great race.
We left there and argued again. I thought we should stay in Blackburn because Pete was getting a train back in around 3 hours time and I thought it would be pointless to leave Preston just to come back but my dad was being a moody pain in the arse so we had to leave Preston.
I ended up drving us the nice scenic route to the Ribby Arms for lunch. We sat at the back of the place this time and even my dads boss popped out to offers us free drinks which we didn't get chance to have because the food took 75 minutes to arrive and we didn't have time to have another drink because Pete had decided he needed to get to the trainstation an hour before his train was due in case they changed the time of the train. I said there is no chance of them changing the time because they can't do that but he wanted to get there early. In fact he wanted to get there over an hour before it was due but luckily for us the food was so late because the place was so packed.
We got to the train station about 55 minutes before the train was due and my didn't know what time the train was due but when Pete walked off to go to the toilet I told him and he wasn't happy about having to wait around for all that time and of course that made him even more grumpier than he was being. I wasn't pleased about being there so early but I eased some of my boredom by messing around with Lucky.
The train arrived about five minutes before it was due to leave and after hugs and shaking of hands Pete was on the train and we were stood poised the wave as the train set off at the time it was due to leave so we got there early for no reason.
Back to Blackburn and to a pub for dessert and games on a quiz machine before a trip to McDonalds for some dinner and then home.
All in all it was a good weekend but my dads mood wasn't fun at all. I asked him since why he was so moody and he said he didn't want to do what we were doing and that Pete is my friend and not his friend and I said he should of told me and I didn't make him come with us and that he came on his own free will. Next time I won't even bother taking him anywhere with me and then I bet he won't be happy. I do try and include him but I simply can't take him everywhere with me anymore because I need my own life, my own space and my own friends. At the end of the day we are pretty close and I want to spend time with him but I think it's about time I scaled back just how much time I do spend with him but also I will still go places with him and include him with my things too!!
