Maroon 5 Concert

I'd been really looking forward to the Maroon 5 concert for about a month so when the day of the concert came I was pretty happy although I wasn't sure if Lyndsey would be coming or not because she was suffering from bird flu.

I got up in the morning all excited and half expecting Lynds to phone me and say she was too ill to come but instead we made arrangements online to meet outside Frankie and Benny's at 3:30pm.

I then jumped in the shower and came back down with a towel on my head and ended up back on MSN talking to Lyndsey. My dad then decided to be my own personal talking clock, telling me the time every 5-10 minutes. He was totally doing my head in, in the end I said bye to Lyndsey and went and dried my hair and did my make up.

I was falling behind time again because I always seem to lose time somewhere and 10 minutes before I was due to be outside F&Bs I was just leaving my house. We then got caught in school time traffic and then we got caught behind a learner driver. OMG!! I know I haven't passed my test yet but I am heaps more confident on the roads and I don't think instructors should take learners into the busy town centre when it is so busy.
This learner wouldn't pull out at the junction and we were sat there for ten minutes, I think if it didn't pull out when it did I would ot got out the car and walked the last 5 minutes.

I got there about 2 minutes before Lyndsey so I was happy I'd not kept her waiting.

We went in and got shown to a table and when we ordered our drinks we got asked for ID. Normally this isn't a problem for me because I always have it on me, well that was until my mum got me a new bag and matching purse for my birthday. The purse doesn't have any sections in it for cards so I just had my two bank cards in it.
I was mortified when he asked for ID because I kinda knew it wasn't in there and had to have a diet coke.

I rung my dad up and asked him to bring me some ID from home. He wasn't happy because he was half way up the car park in town and had to turn round and go home. He was annoyed because I'm 25 and I am stil getting asked for ID.
By the time my dad turned up I was eating burger and fries and soon the waiter was over asking me if I wanted another drink and of course I did otherwise I wouldn't of got my dad to bring my ID to me.
I had a strawberry Dalquari and I was a very happy bunny then.

The food was nice as always and so was the other strawberry dalquari that I had. Once we finished we made our way out into the pouring rain and made our way across to the train station.

As we were stood waiting for the train I decided I badly needed the toilet but I couldn't go because the train was due but OMG it came 5 minutes after I first said I needed to go so I could of gone. But then knowing my luck the train would of turned up as I was sat on the toilet.

The train journey seemed to be never ending and I was bored a lot of the way, no offence to Lyndsey, but it just seemed to be one of those journeys that went on and on and on so when we got there I was glad to get off and stretch my legs.

The station is right under the arena which is good. We went to the shop and I got some water to take in with me. We then went in Mc Donalds for a snack and a drink before making our way into the arena. When we got there they made me throw my water away which I wasn't happy about because I'd just got it.

We looked for programs but all they had was a book full of pictures that didn't look too good. They had a couple of nice looking t-shirts but I wasn't in the mood to get one so we made our way to our seats.

The opening act was on by this point and they were OK but weren't really my cup of tea. So we went out to get a drink and Iwent to the toilet while Lyndsey got the drinks. We agreed to meet by the door we came out.
I came back to the door I thought we came out of (107) and was stood there for ages wondering where Lyndsey was and about 5 minutes later she came and tapped on my back. It seems there was two 107s and we were in the other one but at least I go the 107 bit right.

The opening act had left and they were setting up for Maroon 5. They seemed to take forever doing that and it was such a long and boring wait before at 8:50 Maroon 5 finally came on stage!!

The concert was good and they did some really good songs, I had a good sing along but they didnt get the crowd going as much as other bands so which was a little dissappointing for me. The couple next to me sat still all night and barely clapped and didn't cheer once, I thought what is the point in coming to a concert if you are going to sit there like a couple of wet lemons?!!

The concert really started to get going about 45 minutes into it and they did a couple of their best songs and then just over an hour into the concert they left the stage.
Everyone was sat waiting for them to come on, even the lights didn't come back on for ages althought they normally come back on when a concert is over, it was after about 1-2 minutes when we realised they weren't coming back on.

It wasn't even 10pm yet and they had left after just around an hour and a bit!! I wasn't happy!! It was the shortest concert I have ever been to because normally they do 90 minutes minimum and Bon Jovi do around 2 and a half so for this band to go off after an hour wasn't very pleasing at all.

I then realised we missed the early train by 5 minutes, if they'd gone off 5-10 minutes before we could of gotten back to Blackburn and had a couple of drinks but now we were stuck in Manchester for 70 minutes.

We decided to go out and see if we could find somewhre to get a drink. It took about 20 minutes of walking round until we ended up in the Hard Rock Cafe. We had Strawberry Daquari each but it didn't taste like she'd even bothered to put any alcohol in it.

We left there and made our way back to the train station and just as we were walking in they announced the Blackburn train was about to leave from platform 4. OMG!! There was a mad panic on and we ran across the station stopping and asking the police where the platform was. We got to a train and was about to get on it when Lynds asked if it was the Blackburn one and it turned out it wasn't and it was the otherside up some stairs and down the stairs at the otherside.

At this point I was out of breath and having to run again nearly killed me. I ran to the steps and I just couldn't run anyway, I was out of breath but moved up the steps as fast as I could. I got to the other side and I could see the guy ready to wave the train off and as I got half way down Lyndsey got to the guy and stopped him and shouted me to hurry up. I made a mad dash to the train and jumped on and 2 seconds later it started moving.

OMG!! I'd never been so out of breath in my whole life, I was in pain in my lungs and my side killed. It was at that point I knew I needed to get a lot fitter, it Lynds hadn't been able to run like she had then we never would of got on that train and would of had to pay for a taxi home which would of cost £30-40 and I wouldn't of been pleased.

We didn't have a seat for the first 10 minutes of the journey and eventually got seats.

The journey home was a lot harder because we were both tired. It seemed to go on for hours although it was about an hour in total. I was so bored and I couldn't wait to get off at the other end.
We finally did and I almost left my purse on the train but luckily for me Lyndsey spotted it as we were getting off.

We made our way outside were Lynds ordered two taxis and they both turned up at the same time so we left at the same time.

It's just a shame the concert was so short, an hour is nowhere near enough and that puts me off seeing them again.
