As I Am - Part II

I went to Ikea on Wednesday. I'd been wanting to go for a while for two reasons, the first was I needed another DVD/CD rack because I've filled up all the four I already have and have more DVDs/DVDs to start filling another and there is a table and chair set we've been after for a while. So we ended up going to the Manchester one around 4pm on Wednesday and we took the Sat Nav which decided to take us the wrong way when we got to Ashton Under Lyne (that's where it is for those who don't know) and took us down a dead-end street in the opposite direction. We eventually got there after turning off the sat nav. I really enjoy walking around Ikea, when you go the first time it's very confussing and a different experience but once you get used to how things work it makes it so much easier and I just love walking round there looking at things because I always spot things I end up going back and getting. We always get a lot more than we went for and end up with a IKEA bag full with bits and bats and for those who don't know what size Ikea bags are they are MASSIVE and cost 30p but they can be reused but we alwayd forget to take one back with us.

We got the table and chair set we've wanted for ages and some really nice cushions for the chairs. The cushions were only £3 each which I thought was a total bargain because they look amazing and make the chairs look heaps better. We got some bamboo-ess placemats which look amazing too. I finally got a blind for my bedroom after wanting to get one for a long time now and my dad put it up for me this afternoon along with my mirror. Got another fleece throw for the sofa, they are so amazing and everytime I see a new colour I have to get it and it's hard to believe they are under £2 each. We also got an blue bathmat because we don't like the one we had because it looked too much like a towel. We just got generally bits and bobs. The next day we got a Ikea statement thing which had a voucher in saying if we spend £60 we get a £10 voucher, well we could of done with that the day before!! We will be going back in the next 2-3 weeks because there is a sofa there that I want and my dad wants two blinds for his bedroom and I want some big cushions for the sofa and a few other little things.

I think I'm having a driving lesson this week which I'm looking forward to but I must admit I can be a bit of a nightmare. I'm really confident and good at everything except for reverse parking, you know the one where you have to reverse round a corner, but that's not why I'm such a nightmare. Basically if I didn't have my Ls on the car you wouldn't know I'm a learner and also because I am constantly complaining about leaners especially when I get stuck behind one and they are dreadful at driving, I must confess they really do test my patience. On Saturday I was stuck behind one all the way to Accrington from Intack, they were so slow, well I was stuck behind 5 cars and at the front of us was a learner. Also on Saturday I think all the crap drivers were out, OMG, because I had a lot of them, more than normal, doing dogdy stuff in front of me and they totally pissed me off and my dad was glad when we weren't driving because he was sick at me shouting and swearing at them. I was fine when I wasn't driving but there were 100 times more on the road than normal and they wound me out so much, I was a lil pissed off about something else so they got me even more wound up than normal.

Finally started my assignment today and am just over 500 words into it. I am clueless what else to write and really need to go through my course book and write some notes so I can do a better argument because basically at the moment I'm saying social practice is more important than art or technology to film historians but I've not said why or how I've come to that or how I've managed to take techology and art out of the equation so I need to work out why myself so I can write it much better. I want to get up to 1100-1300 tomorrow as well as doing some notes so I have my work cut out for me. I have until Thursday to finish so the more I get done the sooner the better but I also have to work but I think I will do my assignment in the morning and work until 8pm in the evening work wise so then I'm doing the assignment with a fresh rather than a tired brian.

I've just watched Dancing on Ice and it's back on in 20 minutes so I'm off to get the washing outta the washer and sort it. I think I'm going to go to bed and watch Stardust again after DIO if there isn't any films on TV and then hopefully be asleep before midnight.
