Every since Christmas Day I have had 15 roast dinners and I think I am about to turn into one. I like them, in fact I love them but it's not something we eat often. We did start to go to The Windmill on Sunday's for our dinner but before that I think we'd maybe had one or two roast dinners over the year.
Christmas Day was amazing and Boxing Day I had a turkey so of course I made a roast dinner. The turkey lasted us 4 more days so of course there was 4 more roast dinners to be had which took us up to 7.
When the turkey ran out we went onto chicken for a couple of days before finally going onto beef for a couple of days.
Then one night I'd had enough of cooking so we had a curry and the next night was sausage, bean and roast potatoes (home-made of course) so it was a kinda roast and then again this evening I had a roast again.
Tomorrow is the last day of the roast dinners because we are getting back onto the normal way we eat which is plenty of veg, salad and fruit which I love anyway so I can't wait for Monday.
I think roast potatoes are my favourite thing after grilled chicken and I couldn't get enough of them over this festive time. I make lovely home-made ones which take an hour in total to make but they are worth it. I am almost sad that it has to end but I can't carry on eating this way because I need to lose some weight.
So no Sunday roasts at The Windmill either, but I can have other food but have to stay away from the roast dinners for a month or so and then maybe go back on them once I've lost some weight as a treat. It's just the roast potatoes that carry the most calories....oh well.
So if you see me walking down the street looking like a roast dinner you now know why. They are the best though but at least I won't miss them too much with over-dosing on them over the last couple of weeks.
