HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
It's been a couple of weeks since I have posted anything on here, I didn't realise how long it had been until just now when I came on here.
I can't remember everything what has gone on since my last post but will try and mention what I can remember.
It has been a hectic couple of weeks with the run up to Christmas and I was very busy having written myself a to do list which I shall do once a month from now on.
There was so much stuff on my to do list but it kept me busy and I enjoyed being so busy and having so much to do although at times I did wish that I didn't have so much to do but that was just me being lazy hehe.
I managed to get ahead with my course work for B120 (my business studies course) and got the TMA (assignment) done about five days before it is due (still haven't had my results though) and then got ahead on T175 (my technology course) and got my CMA (computer marked assignment) in and got my result for that the other day, I passed but I wished I got a higher mark but then again it was so hard so the result was so good considering how hard it was.
I managed to complete my "read 30 books in 2006" just on New Years Eve but at least it is finished and I am happy with getting through that. It was "read 50 books in 2006" but I spent 8 months of the year ill and I couldn't get much reading done when I was really ill so 30 books is good considering how ill I was.
For this year my reading goal is "read 12 books in 2007" which is only one a month so that is good I guess. I will have too much reading to do this year anything as I am on three courses, I will start a 4th in May and a 5th in September. All the courses have at least 10 books to them and then there is extra reading and the level three course I am about to start I have to do additional reading too so I could read well over 100 books for my courses this year. It's going to be hard work but I am willing to work harder than I have ever done this year.
So I worked hard up to Christmas, well the day before Christmas eve and then I got up at 4am on the 23rd December. I couldn't sleep even though I went to bed at 9pm it took me hours to get to sleep and I kept waking up and I got sick of it so got up at 4am. We had to be out just before 7am anyway so I didn't mind getting up at that time but I did wish that I had more sleep as I was so tired and had to drink diet coke all day to stay awake.
So we left here at 7am and went straight down to the market to pick up the turkey that we had ordered. After we picked up the turkey we made our way up to Asda where we did most of our food shopping, once we left there I drove to my mums house where we dropped off two trays of eggs. Then went over to the butchers in Chatburn, as my dad went and got in the queue to go in there I sat in the car and read some of the book I was reading.
Once we left Chatburn we came back to Blackburn and went to Morrions, we walked across to the town centre from there and got some stuff in town before going back to morrions and picking some more things up. Then we went to my dad's boss and took some stuff to him before coming back to Blackburn again and getting some more stuff in Asda before going over the Argos and picking some stuff up. Then as I was making my way to Chorley someone run into the back of my car with there car. It was shocking!! I was at the traffic lights and then there was a loud bang and the car moved and my dad jumped out and went to speak to the person who ran into the back of us. There wasn't any damamge to our car but she had broke her number plate and my dad said it didn't matter. The woman then came and apologized to me and then we were on our way again. I was in more shock than anything to be honest and as long as there was no damage then that was fine too as accidents do happen.
We then went to Chorley to a running shop as my dad has some vouchers for there and I gave him some money to go with the vouchers so he could get a really good pair of trainers for his marathon training. He went in and saw they were starting a sale three days later and said he would wait until the sale was on so he could get them cheaper. We then came home and it was just after 5pm when we got in so we had been out for ten hours and we both were shattered and ready for something to eat.
CHRISTMAS DAY was fantastic!! I kept waking up the night before so didn't get much sleep. I led in bed awake for another few hours before I got up just after 8am. I then went and woke my dad up and went downstairs to wait for him so we could sit and open our presents together like we always do. He took forever, I think I waited an hour for him because he went and had a shower before he came down.
He eventually came down and we set to opening our presents, I didn't open them all as I didn't have them all here until my mum, step dad and brother came but this is what I got for Christmas:
21 inch TV/DVD - from my dad
A cool PINK digital alarm clock - from my mum
A pair of silver hoop earrings - from my mum
My Name is Earl Season One Box Set - from my mum
Loose by Nelly Furtado - from my brother Duncan
A Box of Luxury Chocolates - from Madeline
A Ken Hom Chinese Cook Book - from Mr Charles
A Box of LUSH goodies - from Miss Bignell
Patience by Take That - from my brother Barry and his family
HEX season One Box Set - from Mr Eds
Take That Special Edtion Live Concert DVD - from my dad
A Mini Pink Hot Water Bottle in a Knitted PINK cover with the Playboy bunny on - from my mum
Live Robbie Williams DVD - from Mr Charles
Take That Never Forget - from my dad
I think that's everything, it took me ages to remember all that so if I have missed something off the list I didn't mean to.
Christmas day was good. I sat and watched my Take That DVD and ate loads of chocolate log and then went and had a shower and got ready. I put on a nice outfit as I like to make a effort for Christmas Day and then I came down and sorted the house out and waited for people to turn up.
The food was amazing and it was a good day all round. When everyone went I watched my Take That DVD again hehe and then watched some of my Robbie Williams DVD and then went to bed in the early hours of the morning......
to be continued!!!
I forgot about continuing this, I was planning on doing it a couple of days after my original post but it's like 9 days after my original post now but I will continue the post now!!
Boxing Day was just like any other day except for the fact I sat and ate chocolate biscuits, chocolate cake and various other snacks all day which I never normally do. I normally don't eat anything like that but I thought seen as it's Christmas I might as well eat all that kind of food.
So boxing day I basically sat and ate loads of yummy fattening food all day and watch my DVDs and that's it really. Wednesday and Thursday I did the same as Boxing Day and stuffed my face on rubbish and junk food all day and didn't have one proper meal except in the evenin when I would cook something and have to force it down because I was so full on chocolate stuff that I had been eating all day long.
Friday 29th December I went out. I spend an hour getting ready, I was running late and was meant to have gotten in the shower an hour before I actually did but I went on Yahoo and was talking to Pete and I only intended to stay for half an hour and I was on for ages. In the mean time my dad had come home from a run and had gotten into the shower so I was having to wait around to get in the shower because I couldn't do anything until I had a shower.
I wanted to leave at 7:20pm at the latest and I didn't even get in the shower until 6:30 and it takes me ages to get ready, probably the fastest I can do it all in is an hour so I was really rushing. I managed to get ready for 7:20 which was great and as I stepped out my bedroom to go downstairs my dad starts to walk upstairs in his dressing gown and I wasn't pleased. I thought he was ready as he went downstairs not long after I got out of the shower so I presumed he was ready but he wasn't!! I told him that we were meant to leave then and he said he wouldn't be long so I went downstairs and waited and it seemed to be forever and ever that I was waiting and I was getting more and more annoyed with him and he eventually comes downstairs and announces that we must stop and get petrol on the way there which annoys me even more because that will take another 5 minutes up and it's a thirty minute drive and it's now 7:35. So we get in the car and I drive to a petrol station about ten minutes away and he gets out the car and then gets back in annoucing he had forgotten his wallet. At this point I was ready to scream at my dad because we were meant to be somewhere at 8pm and he had messed around at home then made me even later by having to go and get petrol and then forgets his wallet. It was a good thing that I put £40 in my purse on the way out otherwise we would of had to drive all the way home and then ack again and put another 25 minutes onto the journey.
We then set off again and I'm driving and then it starts to pour it down really hard so I am driving along at 60mph but because of how heavy the rain is I have to slow my driving down a lot because of how wet the road is and how fast the rain is pouring down on the car. I still keep as much speed as I can because I am trying not to be too late but it was scary at one point in the rain because I couldn't see a thing but I was fine in the end.
I think we were about 10-15 minutes late and I was annoyed at being so late, we would of been on time if my dad hadn't messed around and then needed petrol. I was just thankful I had picked some money up on the way out otherwise we wouldn't of gotten there until about 9pm.
When we got there we went straight into see Dil who was performing that night, we have known Dil since I was about 7 so it's been a long time. I haven't seen him perform as many times as I would of liked over the years though. The last time I saw him perform was a couple of years ago at my step dads 60th birthday party.
Dil bought my dad and I a drink and then my mum came up to us and got us to go and sit were she was sitting but we ended up in the middle of this thing where if you wanted to get out about 5 people had to stand up and move. We soon discovered that my mum had sat us with a bunch of old fuddy duddys and we weren't impressed and we were sat there wondering why my mum wasn't sat with Dil and his partner Pat because they have known each other for years.
I was only sat there less than ten minutes and I was bored out of my head and I then saw an opportunity for me and my dad to escape so I dragged him out and went over to sit with Dil and Pat which was far more interesting for the both of us. I did try and get my mum to come and sit with us but for some reason she wouldn't.
Dil went on for his first set around 9pm and did a 45 minute set that was utterly amazing. He is a great singer and guitarist and also made us laugh inbetween the songs and before we knew it his first 45 minutes were up. Then it was time for the buffet that had been put on so we went and got some food and ate it and then bought some raffle tickets for the raffle which Dil drew for us and of course I didn't win anything.
Once the raffle was over Dil went on for his second set and that was just amazing, much better than the first one and I was sad when it was over but had such an amazing time listening to him. He got a standing ovation at the end. Once it was all over he packed up his stuff and I had my picture taken with him, we all exchanged hugs and Dil and Pat left and not long after me and my dad left too driving home in the pouring rain.
I was buzzing from excitement when I got in because it was such an amazing night, I loved every minute of him and will be seeing him perform part of a trio in March. He is in a trio with his daughter and her friend and they are really good from what I have been told and I can't wait to see them.
The Saturday was back to normal and we went out and did the shopping and came home and I ate more chocolate biscuits and cake or what was left of it was things were going to go back to normal on the 2nd Jan. Saturday night I sat and watched DVDs and Sunday was filled with DVDs again.
I was planning on doing studying over some of Christmas but my dad was on the computer all the time and when he wasn't on I was too tired to do any study so I didn't get anything done.
New Years Day we were invited over to my mums for dinner and I got ready and we were about to leave when my dad cut himself with a knife and there was blood everywhere. At first he didn't realise he had cut himself but I just saw lots of blood on the floor and had to rush out because I pass out at the site of blood and didn't want to. So I went into the front room and he said he was OK and mopped the floor and wiped all the blood up and then put a big plaster on his thumb but the blood came through the plaster and he kept having to change it. About 2:30 my rang to see were we where because we were meant to be there at 2pm and pick my brother up on the way. My dad told my mum what had happened and she said to ring her and let her know if we are still going for dinner. We didn't ring back so she ended up ringing us back and eventually my dad agreed to go and we left and picked my brother up on the way there. We got there at almost 4pm and my step dad was in the kitchen putting the food out which he had kept cooking instead of keeping it warm in the oven.
The food was nice, some of it was slightly over cooked but in general it was OK and we did enjoy it all. We had beef withYorkshiree puddings and veg and it was lovely and then for dessert we had jam roly poly with custard which was nice too. I haven't had jam roly poly in about ten years so it was a nice change to have that.
We left there about 7pm because my brother wanted to make it back to the shop because it was closing at 8pm. So we left and took him to the shop and then dropped him off at home before coming home ourselves. It was nice to be home in the warm because it is always cold at my mums house. I then just chilled out with a DVD in the evening.
That's my xmas and new year!!

Hey, congratulations on passing your exam. That is good, even if you didn't get the best mark ever, I'm sure that you did well. Morten, my brother, just had an oral exam today, some marketing stuff, he passed as well, but didn't get the best mark, however, he says that it's pretty good considering the fact that he more or less didn't study at all for that subject. Haha, it's because he wants to be a real estate agent thingie person, but before he can get accepted at uni, he needs to have passed certain subjects at a course that he's been doing for the past 6 moths, but the exam that he did today, wasn't necessary for him to get excepted at that education, it was just part of the course, so actually he could've chosen not to attend the exam, but did so anyway, just for a laugh. *lol*
Anyhow, good luck with the rest of your exams. And it's great that you've come ahead with your course work.
Wow, reading 100 books for your courses this year, you'll be one little busy bee. I don't think that I could do that. It's cool that you got to reach your goal of 30 books.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that car accident. Glad that no one got hurt.
And I'm glad too that you had a lovely Christmas. :) Hehe, I can't wait for the continuance.
